Located on the Kottayam-Idukki border, Vagamon (also known as Wagamon) is a remote hill station of Kerala. This beautiful hill station is surrounded by a number of highlands and mountains, namely Murugan Hill, Kurisumala Hill and Thangal Hill. These quaint hills cover the hill station in a sequence and hence give Wagamon an aura of sanctity. The place is a hub for tourists. A number of tourists come to this place, to enjoy adventure sports, naturalists. The hill station has got varied vegetations, as the climate and altitude works in diverse ways here. The lower altitudes have long tropical grass and other shrubs, whereas the higher altitudes of the mountains are covered with evergreen trees. Because of such variety in the vegetation, most of the herbivores have settled on the lower ends where the grassland prevails. Thus, the carnivores have made it their shelter as well.

The Kurisumala Hill is a religious place and a spiritual centre for Nazrani Catholics, who come here often to pray and ponder upon their lives.
Kurisumula Ashram in Kurisumala Hill, Wagamon, is also a spiritual abode for Hindus as well as Christians. The hill contains 12 sub-heaps, which are the actual places of worship. The hill is also a home to Indo-Swiss Dairy farm Project, because of the pastures which are available at the foothills. The hill is also popular, as the cash crop of Kerala the tea plantations are present here. It is completely enclosed with these plantations. Thangal Hill is the burial chamber of Sheikh Fariduddin, an Islamic saint and Murugan Hill is devoted to Hindu God Murugan, who is the son of Lord Shiva, according to Hindu mythology. Forests, grasslands, a suicide point along with rich fauna make this hill station a must- visit for every tourist who visits Kerala. Vagamon exhibits a pleasing mood of mother earth. Mist that can be touched, clear raindrops, gentle breeze and the golden hue of the sun are a part of it.
